decided to add a 'diary' section to the site.
no idea if anyone is gonna care about it, but honestly that doesn't matter that much to me.
i was considering keeping these logs privately, rather than publishing them online, but i figured these might be useful to some hypothetical someone who wants to know why my projects are taking so long.
besides, is it really that weird to put your diary online?
what is a diary if not a blog that you're weirdly cagey about other people reading?
what is a blog if not a diary that you're weirdly insistent that other people read?
anyway...
i feel bad about having so many projects that get left behind in the whirlwind of ADHD that is my brain.
maybe this diary will help me keep everything straight? or maybe it wont. hell if i know.
spent the morning chipping away at a bug that was causing pokémon crystal's news machine to receive packets with their first 0-16 bytes chopped off, seemingly arbitrarily within approximately that range. by 'the morning', i mean i started at 03:00, because i fell asleep waaaaaaay too early last night. was feeling sick.
the bug took me an embarassingly long time to sort out, but i got most of it worked out today. just residual cleanup left. i'll have to take care of that before i go for the next steps of getting the news machine really, _fully_ functional. like, i literally can't move forward with it, because POST requests arent getting their bodies sent to the server.
im honestly considering re-writing the entire adapter script, for the third time, in...... like, any language that isn't c-based. maybe i should finally learn Rust. that seems to be what the cool kidz are using these days.
